To All Air Conditioner Owners

A note to all aircon owners

Pretty sure, most of us here will consider ourselves lucky to be born and live in Malaysia as we have our lovely sun for 365 days. With sun all year long, it means we will be needing our life savior, the air conditioner to keep our sanity through the scorching hot weather. As an air conditioner owner or a soon to be, it is important for you to know at least the basic knowledge about this electric appliance.

To All Air Conditioner Owners

After purchasing a new air conditioner, next will be on the installation of the unit. There are several important guidelines that you should take note when installing a split air conditioner. Here, we will be sharing 5 important guidelines. So, if you are a soon to be owner, please take note!

1. Is Your Wall Strong Enough?

It is important to make sure that your indoor unit of air conditioner is installed on a wall that is sturdy enough to hold the unit’s weight. Avoid fixing the unit onto false walls or uneven surfaces.

2. Spacing Between Wall & Unit

For a proper air flow from your air conditioner, it is ideal to have the indoor unit to be minimum 15cm away from the wall to allow adequate open space on both top & sides. The external unit should also have sufficient breathing space.

3. Installation Height from Ground

Before mounting the indoor unit of your split air conditioner, please take out your measurement tape and ensure that it is at a height of at least 7-8 feet above the ground. This height is just nice for an effective cooling of the room.

4. Perfect Tilt Angle

Pay extra attention when fixing the aluminium brackets for the outdoor unit of split air conditioner. The brackets need to have a slight tilt angle to ensure the indoor unit will not have an obstructed flow of the condensed water from the drainpipe.

5. Ideal Spot for Outdoor Unit

Choose a flat and rigid surface for your outdoor unit as it contains key components of your air conditioner such as the compressor, condenser and fan motor. You will have excessive vibration and lots of noise if it is not on flat surface. We guess nobody loves waking up every night due to the unwanted noise. Not only that, it will also cause serious damage to the key components of your unit.

Even if the installation of air conditioner might look easy to you, never attempt to do it yourselves. Our advice is always hire an expert in order to have it installed properly.
